I began working in community service in 1999 with the Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Center. I received my Masters degree in Counseling Psychology in 2003 from the University of San Francisco. I have continued to work with issues of trauma throughout my career, and I've seen clients with many Bay Area organizations including Haight Ashbury Psychological Services and the former New Leaf Services.
My other main area of emphasis is diverse sexuality and relationships, especially LGBT, polyamorous, and kinky folks. I spent several years volunteering on the training staff with San Francisco Sex Information, and I've presented on topics related to sexuality for SFSI, New Leaf Services, UC Davis, Palo Alto University, Sonoma State University and more.
As part of staying on top of my professional development, I belong to the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists and American Association of Sexuality Educators Counselors and Therapists.
